And, in times when you may not possibly find a charging point or worse you realize that the power bank’s battery is discharged as well that’s when panic strikes. Hey but not anymore because, here are some easy breezy tips that could help in sustaining your phone’s battery life at least till you connect it with a charger or Powerbank.

Don’t worry nobody’s advising you to put that smartphone away to save battery. Well, all we are trying to do is to provide you with some smart tips on how to reduce your handset’s power consumption without hampering your usage! Sounds interesting? Well, then let’s proceed and deep dive into it to know more.

Brightness – The Mortal Enemy

No matter how much you love your smartphone’s colorful display, it drains your battery at a rapid speed.  You can either manually set the brightness level of your smartphone according to your preference or set it to auto brightness mode wherein the phone’s screen brightness will automatically adjust according to the ambient lightings. Does this save a lot of battery life? Well considerably yes, as it utilizes comparatively less power. By using auto brightness feature you can easily increase approximately 2 to 2.5 hours of your battery life at least. What else? It won’t strain your eyes either!

Here’s how you can adjust your screen brightness on Android Phone:
Step 1: Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the Quick Access.
Step 2: Swipe or drag on the brightness slider to adjust the brightness level manually OR you can even tap on the check box besides the auto option.
Step 3: Once adjusted as desired release the slider.

2. Timeout with screen timeout or sleep mode

Another reason that is causing your phone’s battery to drain faster is the longer screen time. If you are someone who keeps your lit for a prolong period then it’s time to tweak with the screen timeout settings and ensure to set it at minimum. For instance, if your screen timeout is currently set to 2 minutes, consider reducing that figure to 30 seconds or less.

Screen out or sleep mode will automatically lock the screen after the set period of inactivity. For example; if you have set your screen timeout for 15 seconds and your phone is inactive for that many seconds or minutes it will automatically lock the phone until you unlock it again thereby saving your phone’s battery life. On most Android phones, the minimum default screen time is set to 15 seconds.

Know how you can change the sleep mode or screen timeout settings on Android Phone
Step 1: Click on Settings –> Tap on Display option under settings
Step 2: Tap on the sleep mode or screen timeout option under display
Step 3: Select the desired time out according to your preference.

While, most of us often use these features on daily basis, all you can do it simply ensure to disable them while not in use for instance; turn off or deactivate Bluetooth if you aren’t playing any songs on your Bluetooth speaker or when you aren’t using your Bluetooth headsetThis way, you can certainly try adding at least an hour or more to your phone’s battery life.

Although, we may find this multitasking thing a convenient feature, what most of us fail to understand is that running so many apps at one time utilizes a lot of power than required thereby, draining the battery of your smartphone quickly.

However, there is a quick and easy way to ensure that your phone’s battery does not get drained unnecessarily how? It could probably come as a surprise for a few of you but by clearing the apps in the background can certainly reduce the power utilization. Trust me, it’s no less than a blessing! Why am I harping so much on this what does this feature exactly do you may ask? Well, Power saving mode or battery saving mode conserves the battery of your phone thereby reducing the screen brightness as well as data usage of background apps, blocks notifications and updates from apps unless you open them to check. Apart from this, battery saving mode or power saving mode feature also blocks those apps that use the GPS, yes, it means you won’t be able to access the Google Maps to track your route with power saving mode on.

In short, it almost converts your smartphone into a feature phone giving you an indication that the battery needs to be charged as soon as possible.

So the next time if your smartphone is running on a low battery and you probably feel like you won’t be able to get to a charging point anywhere for a while, you can manually enable it by:

Step 3: Under the turn on automatically option, you will find that the battery saving mode or power saving mode is set at 15% battery by default. However, according to your preference, you can retain the same or select among 5% battery or 15% battery.

6. Don’t use Haptic Feedback & Vibration Mode:

Do you like the tactile feeling when your phone’s keyboard vibrates while typing? Or you prefer your phone to vibrate and ring to alert you about any calls or notifications?
